Spring Cleaning Checklist + Tips

With Spring comes spring cleaning, out with the mess of made while curled up under four duvets. As the last gasp of winter is upon us here in Maryland, I figured now would be the perfect time to share my go-to checklist and a couple helpful tips to get your room feeling fresh and clean.
Have a trash bag with you
As you go through the dark corners of your room you're inevitably going to realize you have a lot of crap in there. A normal bedroom-sized trash bag just won't cut it, which leads me to my next tip.
Don't be overly sentimental
When are you really going to need that used up perfume you wore all the time in the sixth grade, or the t-shirt you got every year you did that local race? Chances are, you're not. Go through with you're room with a full intention of only keeping what you are going to use on a weekly to monthly basis.
Get organized
If your organizational system isn't working, find a way to fix it! wether that be reorganizing your room in a way that makes sense in your routine or just reorganizing a small part, such as your vanity, so it doesn't end up all over your floor the next time you need to use it.
Be intentional
Without fully meaning to keep your space clean, it won't be clean. Going through your daily life throwing clothes on the ground as you go and letting stuff pile up on all your surfaces will completely reverse all of the work you just did to clean it up. Spending the extra couple seconds it takes to put things away is really the only way to keep your room ship-shape
